WBO Team Expands it’s World Presence
As CEO, Susanne Lucas has been holding the torch for WBO for 17 years. New energy sprang forth when Kamesh Salam took on the role of President in 2007. Successfully, these two people spear-headed the coordination of the 8th World Bamboo Congress last September in Bangkok. Now, the evolution continues as WBO has now created a partner-ship with the most experienced person in the bamboo building industry : Jeffree Trudeau.
Through his strong ties and international presence in the quest to unveil the mysteries of structural bamboo-use and certification, Jeffree has brought bamboo and its image as a sustainable building material to a higher level. His efforts have brought bamboo as an approved material within the UBC (Uniform Building Code), as well as within western building model options for sustainable eco-friendly housing.
He has worked together and hosted many prominent figures in the architectural design world. Certification standards were his focus for 17 years with the support of people like Jules Janssen, Oscar Hidalgo Lopez, Simon Velez, etc. Jeffree also created the first International Bamboo Design Competition { www.bamboocompetition.com } with his partners at Bamboo Technologies, Inc.
We are truly <pumped> to have Jeffree on our team here at WBO. We will work collaboratively with both of Jeffree’s companies, Bamboo Living and Bamboo Technologies, as well as Generation Bambou { www.generationbambou.org } in their efforts to promote bamboo as a sustainable building material and as a tool for improving humanity and the environment.

Congrats to Jeff Trudeau and all the people making an effort to educate and assist people in need of bamboo systems. Here in Brazil, the awareness of bamboo as a sustainable industry is growing as fast as a young bamboo shoot! Good luck and great success to all those who see this wonderful plant as a solution to sustainable building worldwide!
