BamBook is a joint-venture project sponsored by the World Bamboo Organization and INBAR. This Global Bamboo Resources Directory of bamboo & rattan professionals will promote the many benefits of these versatile plants. We envision this a very useful directory of bamboo people – a list of practitioners who are leading in their fields, a guide to who is working in specific sectors of the bamboo world, and to whom both organizations can “endorse” as being some of the very best in bamboo.

11th World Bamboo Congress to be held in Mexico, 2018

Every three years, the World Bamboo Organization (WBO) organizes the World Bamboo Congress for the public dissemination of the most current scientific and field research information available worldwide. The 11th WBC will be in the city of Xalapa in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, hosted by Bambues y Forestales de Mexico, A.C. in August 2018.

Jane Wynne of Wynne Farm Ecological Reserve joins the team of WBO Ambassadors. Over decades we have tried to help the people of Haiti with disaster relief housing and encouraging the planting of bamboo. Now, with Jane on our team, we feel we can do this more successfully. She has a long family history of caring for the earth.

WBO Intern Maddie Cassidy-She is our current intern and she is a huge help. This is her last year studying Global Environmental Studies and Philosophy at Clark University (located in Worcester, Massachusetts), and she will be graduating in the Spring 2017. She loves the environment, traveling and writing.

Called BAMBAS, their bamboo bike community workshops create collaborative networks of diverse groups of people and communities.
