In September, the World Bamboo Fair Damyang Korea 2015 Organizing Committee and the World Bamboo Organization launched ‘The World Bamboo Design Competition’, supported by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, the Korea Forest Service, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The deadline for entries was November 30. The purpose of the contest was to attract explorations and innovations in bamboo product design, and to raise awareness of the upcoming World Bamboo Fair Damyang Korea 2015 and the 10th World Bamboo Congress. Overall, these events intend to stimulate initiatives in the industry of sustainably utilizing bamboo. The Contest focused on three categories: Household Goods, Transportation, and Architecture. There were 125 entries, and 45 entries scored sufficient points to be considered for prize awards. Winners were announced on December 31st. Congratulations to all who participated!
