Just as #bambooisgrowing, our World Bamboo Ambassador corps is growing FAST, too!

Staying on top of the newest technologies, opportunities, projects, potentials and research is a daunting task, and the only way it can be accomplished is with dedicated teamwork. WBO is fortunate to have this committed team of people who work independently yet collectively to support our mission to promote the sustainable utilization of bamboo on the planet.

As of this week <April 21, 2023>, the WBO has a total of 56 dedicated Ambassadors who make up our corps. These ambassadors volunteer their time and commitment to help WBO with its mission, and we feel so fortunate for their constant support.

Today, please welcome 3 new Ambassadors:
Eufran Ferreira do Amaral of Brazil, Dr. Anelizabete Alves Teixeira of Brazil and Jennifer Snyders of Australia !

Eufran Amaral is an agro-forester, soil scientist and promoter of bamboo in the Amazon region of Brazil. He works for the government entity Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa) in Rio Branco, Acre. Eufran's research is extensively in land use planning, to build forests with bamboo and trees in agroforestry systems, manage forests with bamboo, and in addition is involved with the measurement of carbon stocks and environmental services. Dra. Alves is the President of the Brazilian Bamboo Network (RBB), and says this, "There is an urgent need to strengthen the bamboo production chain in Brazil, as well as to promote the sustainable use of this plant in the most diverse areas." She holds the following positions at the State University of Goiás – UEG / Central Campus, with a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism – UnB, Brasília / NTNU, Norway, a Master in Architecture and Urbanism – UnB, is a Specialist in Management and Construction Management – UFG / EEC and an Architect and Urban Planner – PUC Goiás. Jennifer Snyders has been a driving force and advocate for bamboo in Australia for many years. She has dedicated her life to building a robust bamboo industry (house of bamboo), which has the potential to positively impact construction supply worldwide, support circular economies in indigenous communities, and contribute to global carbon capture efforts for climate change mitigation.

Over the past six years, Jennifer has engaged with numerous leaders and influencers, and her tireless advocacy is now leading to impressive results. Her efforts are not about promoting house of bamboo products; rather, they center on raising awareness about the amazing qualities of bamboo as a plant and the incredible solutions it can offer to our world. There's no question there is immense interest in bamboo around the world, as current research reveals positive results in climate mitigation, landscape restoration, carbon storage, sustainability, nutritious food, poverty alleviation, housing and economic development.
