As a Research and Development Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in curating and managing valuable research and news related to bamboo. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission by organizing and sharing important content with our global audience.


Role: Support the World Bamboo Organization (WBO) by curating and managing research and news related to bamboo. This role involves finding and organizing relevant documents and studies, and ensuring their integration into WBO’s website and communication channels.


Responsibilities:


Document Curation:


  • Research:

    • Research and identify relevant academic papers, reports, and studies on bamboo.

    • Evaluate the credibility and relevance of these documents.

  • Organization:

    • Curate and organize documents for inclusion on WBO’s website under the “News” or “Publications” sections.

    • Ensure that all curated content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with WBO’s mission.

News Curation:


  • Monitoring:

    • Monitor and gather news articles and updates related to bamboo and its applications.

    • Select and summarize key news items for sharing on WBO’s website and through other communication channels.

  • Summarization:

    • Write concise summaries that capture the essence of the news and its relevance to bamboo.

Content Management:


  • Collaboration:

    • Work with the communications team to transfer curated research and news content to the website.

    • Provide necessary information and summaries to the communications team for dissemination via social media and other platforms.

  • Integration:

    • Ensure that all content is integrated seamlessly into WBO’s digital platforms.

Skills Required:


  • Research Skills: Ability to find and evaluate relevant research papers, reports, and news articles.

  • Content Curation: Experience in organizing and summarizing content for web publication.

  • Communication: Strong writing skills for summarizing and presenting research and news.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work with the communications team to share and promote content.

  • Organization: Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Language: Proficiency in English is essential for this role.
