The Yunlin Storyteller Association is an organization formed by a group of parents, teachers and individuals who believe sharing inspiring stories is a way of giving. 

Established in June 2005, it is committed to promoting storytelling and at the same time to cultivate local reading culture.

 

Yunlin Storyteller Association has been revitalizing the Yunlin Storyhouse since 2007. 

The main goal is to serve as a storytelling platform for all those interested in learning, sharing and education.  The Yunlin Storyhouse was the residence of Yunlin County Magistrate during the Japanese Colonial Period (1895 -- 1945).  It is the first historical site that was restored as a storyhouse in Taiwan.  In 2014, the Association initiated another storyhouse operation in Erlun, Yunlin.

 

Everyone has stories and each story is unique.  Since 2002, the association has been encouraging the public to write their own stories. There have been more than 150 community stories published.  In order to promote cultural equity, cultivate reading

culture and create collective memories they have organized storytelling bike tours and Story Boxes to circulate around Yunlin, Taiwan and overseas.
