Some of you may remember back in the 1990's, the 'Bamboo for Europe' project, which was partially funded by the EU, coordinated with Joris De Vos of Cobelgal, Portugal, and by led by Johan Gielis, Victor Brias and Jan Oprins, et. al.                       In 2013, a paper was published in Acta horticulturae 1003(1003):89-95, 'Bamboo as a crop in Western Europe' that further examined the possibilities.

Change takes time, and major change is multi-generational. Fortunately we are committed and we know that #BambooNow is happening. Stay tuned, and #KeepBambooStrong. Our future depends on developing alternatives to tropical wood, to sustainable agro-forestry systems, to innovative engineered products that reduce our carbon footprint, and nature-based, circular economies.

Bamboo can help us get there.
