We've been busy in Taiwan with all our partners to coordinate the 12th World Bamboo Congress, to be held September 18-22, 2020. We're grateful to Taoyuan City Mayor Wen-Tsan Cheng, Taiwan Bamboo Society President Peter Kan, Artist Wang Wen-Chih, World Bamboo Ambassador Tang LiFang, TBS Secretary Alice Lin, and an extensive team across many groups to see this amazing event come to fruition!
We traveled from Taoyuan to Nantou to Zhushan to Yunlin to Chiayi to Taipei, meeting partners and investigating possibilities! We are fortunate to have partnered with the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute in Nantou, the National Central University, the National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi, the Taiwan Bamboo Society, the bamboo community of Zhushan, and more.
Bamboo is currently a $100million usd industry in Taiwan, and we are confident this number will grow! The Congress theme is BambooNow! to reflect the contemporary potential of bamboo in Taiwan and beyond. The first laminated bamboo boards were developed in Taiwan over 30 years ago, and the country has a long history of innovation, high technology, a stylish design-sense, and elegant craft tradition.

We're very excited to be planning the Congress program <with amazing speakers>, the Exhibition and Techno Fair, the Marketplace where you can buy all kinds of bamboo products, a Bamboo Shoot Feast, the World Bamboo Day celebration <coinciding with the opening day!>, and showing the world what Taiwan has to offer! The opening of the 12WBC Taiwan is also the same day as the opening of the world-famous Land Art Festival!
