Flor María Morocho Galarza is a Peruvian architect with a background in research and sustainable development projects. She has worked on architectural projects in public and private entities, in the formulation of social projects in the SER Ciudad Organization and is a researcher in bamboo, green technologies and social architecture. She was a professor at the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú (UTP) and at the Centro Medioambiental de México (CEM).
Regarding her experience in bamboo, she has participated in various training courses on bamboo technologies in India, Mexico and Peru, and has received training on the development of the bamboo industry in China from the China National Bamboo Research Center (CBRC). She has been a speaker in Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Guatemala, and has represented Peru at international events through scientific posters in India and Mexico.
She participated as a Researcher in the Research Circle for the development of the Bamboo value chain for scientific and technological development (CONCYTEC-MINEDU) 2016 – 2023 and was editor of the BAMBUCYT Magazine, Bamboo for science, innovation and technology. In addition to her academic work, she has carried out architectural projects with bamboo with Bamboo Architecture Company and with IV Arquitectos SAC – Implementa Arquitectura.
Currently, she is the Peruvian ambassador to the World Bamboo Organization, Co-founder of the SER Ciudad Association and Project Manager at IV Arquitectos SAC – Línea Bambú. Through Línea Bambú, the architect and her team seek to make known the potential of bamboo as an ecological and versatile resource, adding value to this material through the creation of utilitarian art pieces, with original designs designed for everyday use, all based on bamboo as a raw material.
