Damyang, Korea recognized by FAO UN

We here at WBO are very pleased to see the recognition by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations of Damyang, Korea, as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS). Damyang, led by Governor Choi Hyungsik, hosted the 10th World Bamboo Congress in 2015.

INBAR China Trade Report 2018

On September 16, 2019, during the 1st Congress of Thanh Hoa Bamboo Association held at the Thanh Tam EcoPark, Mr Luong Viet Loi of Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam was awarded the first ever certificate of "being = bamboo member of humanity". This event also earned the title World Bamboo Landmark.

Thank you, Luke, Teagan and Alex & the Hillsborough High School!

The Hillsborough Bamboo Project was initiated by three students from Hillsborough High School in New Jersey. As part of their World History Honors class, these kids researched the versatility of bamboo to discover its inherent sustainability. They promoted bamboo to their community and raised over $500, which they generously donated to WBO.

Significant Results with the Government of Manipur, WBW 2019

During the inauguration ceremony of The Third World Bamboo Workshop on 4 February attended by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, World Bamboo Organization President Michel Abadie declared the state of Manipur as “Bamboo Capital of 2019”, and Chief Minister N.
